My garage door has springs along the side, not above. Is that a problem?
Those are extension springs, and they're fine provided a containment cable runs through the middle of each one. Without it, a snapping spring becomes a projectile. If yours don't have them we'll fit them — a cheap fix for a real hazard.
The door is frozen to the floor. What now?
Don't force it with the opener — that's how you strip the gears or bend a panel. It's usually the bottom seal frozen to damp concrete. Call and we'll free it and look at why water is sitting there.
